First time in Surat,
bone of brain dead man donated
The city recorded its first bone donation thanks
to a brain-dead patient here in surat on Friday, 6th May 2016.
Fiftyeight-year-old farmer Dhansukh Patel was
hit by a motorcycle near a canal here when he was returning from a gymnasium on
May 3. He suffered serious head injury and was rushed to Bardoli Smarak Ho
spital and then to Ashutosh Hospital. He had a blood clot in his brain which
was removed by neurosurgeon Dr Asit Desai.
However, he died on May 5 and was declared
braindead. Dhansukh Patel's wife Nayna, three married daughters Hemangini,
Hetal and Nikita awaited for their brother Kevin, who is an IT student in New
Zealand, to arrive.
Kevin said I told my family that, “My father's organs
should be donated as they can give a new lease of life to many. Bone donation
is a new thing which can give quality life to patients who are suffering from
cancer and fractures.“
Dr Rajiv Raj Chaudhary, who runs a bone bank and
accepted the donation, said, “This is first such case wherein we received bone
donation from a brain-dead patient. Bones are taken en mass from the body and
undergo major process before they are ready for use. However, unlike other
organs bones have a shelf life of four years.“ After ribs, thighs and leg bones
were taken from the body, the process to remove muscles took place.Femur, ankle
and cheek bones were taken later.
“Once the muscles are removed from the bones,
disease checking takes place. The bones are stored in -70 degree centigrade
temperature and will be transported to Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. The
further cleaning up process on the bones there will ensure that minute blood
cells and other tissue cells are also cleaned up,“ Dr Chaudhary said.
The bones will be later sent to Bhabha Atomic
Research Centre. Here they will be sterilized by passing Gamma rays through
them. The whole process is called lyophyllise.
The kidneys harvested from Patel were received
by Gandhinagar-based Nayana Chauhan, 48. His liver was transplanted into
Gandhidham-based Ganesh Bhanushali, 33. His eyes were received by an eye bank.

Updated upto 6th May
Following are the trades triggerd as per MySAR levels for Nifty and BankNifty. Calculation of only one lot has been taken into consideration. As per the technique, if Two or more lots are traded and partial profit is booked
in between considering daily as well as weekly pivots and ema numbers,
and go on riding the trend as the levels, then overall profit would
have remained fantastic…. |
